The proper name for this is ‘Bruxism’, where the chewing muscles are overactive and enlarge, causing damage to the back teeth, headaches and jaw pain. Dentists often treat this with splints work in the mouth at night (not a good look). An alternative treatment is to inject toxin into specific muscles to weaken them. The clenching and grinding stops, and often after a couple of treatments the muscles have shrunk down and the habit is broken.
